In July 2021, Liliia Kaluzhyna, a renowned Ukrainian and Italian artist, presented her painting “Dante Alighieri Divine Comedy Purgatory Canto 1” during the event at Rocca Brivio Sforza. This prestigious event was organized to celebrate Dante Alighieri’s La Divina Commedia, marking the 700th anniversary of the poet’s death. Kaluzhyna’s masterpiece, an oil on canvas (120 x 100 cm, 2020), reflects the profound journey of Dante, making a significant historical contribution to art. Illustrated by contemporary artists, this iconic book was guided by art critic Giorgio Gregorio Grasso and is a testament to the intersection of historical art and modern creativity.
