September 2021: Art criticism. Rome “The strength of women, history, art and culture”. Art critic Pasquale di Matteo.

In September 2021, Ukrainian-Italian artist Liliia Kaluzhyna received a glowing art critique during the exhibition “The Strength of Women, History, Art, Culture” in Rome, curated by art critic Pasquale Di Matteo. Kaluzhyna’s art is deeply influenced by nature and music, often blending these elements into dreamlike scenes reminiscent of Van Gogh’s paintings but infused with vibrant creative energy. Her exploration of feminine dynamics and philosophical concepts emphasizes her depth as an artist. This exhibition highlights Kaluzhyna’s contemporary art talents and her contribution to modern visual arts.

CRITICISM OF THE ART OF LILIIA KALUZHYNA

Liliia Kaluzhyna’s art showcases colors and scenes reminiscent of Van Gogh’s work, yet reimagined with exuberance and creative vitality. Nature plays a fundamental role for the Ukrainian-born artist, often serving as both the background and the protagonist in many of her pieces.

Liliia Kaluzhyna alternates, and frequently blends, two passions that seem visceral: her connection to nature and her love for music.

Cellos played amidst the waves and pianos placed in the heart of a forest create dreamlike scenes that express the force of emotions, capable of literally “uprooting” from the ground, transforming into a time machine or a teleporter, allowing one to experience impossible adventures in our otherwise ordinary existence.

In other works, Kaluzhyna explores philosophical concepts such as identity, depicting faceless figures and metaphysical elements, or addressing the spatio-temporal dimension, where dreams are intertwined with science.

Women are the most frequent subjects of Liliia Kaluzhyna’s artistic journey. She carefully captures the many facets of the female world, interpreting and reflecting their dynamics onto her canvases.

Her use of color, composition, and stylistic choices all point to a level of skill that surpasses mere passion, enriched by academic studies that have shaped her artistic depth.
