In March 2023, renowned artist
Liliia Kaluzhyna took part in the collective exhibition
“Ukrainian Art in Italy” held at the
Altinate | San Gaetano Cultural Center in
Padua from March 2 to 23. The event was dedicated to the city of Kherson, a powerful symbol of
Ukrainian victory after eight months of occupation. Kherson, twinned with Padua since 2017, became a beacon of hope and resilience for Ukraine. Kaluzhyna showcased her remarkable painting
“Special Sunflower”, which attracted significant attention for its symbolic beauty and profound meaning. The exhibition aimed to promote
cultural diplomacy between Italy and Ukraine, highlighting the richness of
Ukrainian art and fostering collaboration between Ukrainian and Italian artists. Supported by the Ukrainian Embassy in Italy and the Italian Institute of Culture in Kyiv, the exhibition provided a platform for
collectors,
artists, and refugees to engage in dialogue and celebrate the strength of cultural exchange in times of crisis.
